2016 Eagle Bay Series Shiraz
Eagle Bay Shiraz is produced from small, very select parcels of Margaret River fruit chosen to be the Best of the Best and to showcase true varietal and regional wine qualities.

This small batched single vineyard wine is sourced from the Maschmedt vineyard on the Eastern side of the Wilyabrup sub-region. The selected fruit went to an open top fermenter for a long, gentle maceration on skins and then underwent 9 months maturation in a combination of new (50%) and 1 year old French oak barriques.
Bright ruby red in colour, with a black/purple interior, this wine has a vibrant, perfumed nose of red cherry and blueberry, with hints of spice and white pepper. The new oak provides complexing notes of char, delicatessen meats and vanillin that will continue to develop with time. This is a medium weight wine made in the classic WA cool climate style.
Enjoy now with rare fillet steak, or cellar for up to 8 years to promote increased complexity and secondary oak development.
