2018 Sea Urchin Shiraz
The Margaret River region experienced a very dry November followed by a heavy soaking in December 2017, thus producing fantastic growth and yields. An extended dry and warm summer with cool nights followed right up to mid-April, enabling a steady ripening period which has produced an outstanding Shiraz.
A short cold maceration to extract the abundant fruit and spice preceded fermentation, malolactic conversion and maturation in French oak.
A deep purple with hues of red with an array of mulberries and spice on the nose. The palate is soft and mouth filling with texture, flavour and natural acidity in perfect balance.
The pure, fruity quality of this wine, balanced by its savoury finish makes it the perfect match for poultry and meat dishes cooked in a sauce, rich tomato based dishes, especially pasta, grilled red meats and excellent too with pizza.
